STEAM HOME SCHOLARS FOUNDATION
We believe every child deserved a chance to shine! The STEAM HomeScholars Foundation is committed to quality education through a host of course offerings designed with your child's development and interests in mind. We offer three introductory classes written for students in kindergarten through middle school, and additional classes that focus on specialized skill development such as game design, drones, robotics, app development, and Java programming.
Our foundational class teaches the basics of everything computer. This class emphasizes typing, organizational skills, internet safety, and computational thinking. Art projects and real world demonstrations are used in conjunction with a block-coding program called Scratch to teach abstract concepts and early game development.
Our introductory programming class is designed specifically for elementary schoolers. This course starts students off with block-coding, and then transitions them into Python programming and level design using the Roblox Studio. Students are expected to learn computational logic, internet safety, and ways to utilize programming to make their ideas come to life.
Our middle school introductory class is made with practicality in mind. Students will start off by learning Python and Roblox Studio, then move into robotics and 3D printing. This class will give students creative freedom through level design and 3D modelling, while giving them the practical skills to succeed in a technical space.
(Requirements: Students under 8th grade must complete an introductory class)
This course is available to a wide age-range of students because of its versatility. Students will learn how to use Unity and Unreal Engine to develop a game from start to finish, with the complexity of the game increasing based off a student's age and experience. This class includes designing levels and characters, using blueprints, and learning the various aspects of game design.
